Product Overview:

BD Bacto™ Yeast Extract is an concentrate of the water soluble portion of autolyzed yeast, and has the highest levels of carbohydrate of our yeast extract offerings. It is a different isolate of Saccharomyces cerevisiaethan that found in BD Bacto™ TC Yeastolate. This supplement is widely used in a variety of vaccines for animals and humans providing essential water soluble vitamins, amino acids, peptides, neucleosides, and carbohydrates to any medium formulation. Customers have found success using BD Bacto™ Yeast Extract in numerous fastidious and nonfastidious cell typles, including Esherichia coli, Erysipelothrix species, Clostridium botulinum, Fusobacterium necroforum and Agrobacterium species. Additionally, customers have found using this product in combination with an animal origin supplement, such as BD Bacto™ Tryptone, BD BBL™ Trypticase Peptone or BD Bacto™ Proteose Peptone No. 3, can provide optimal results for vaccine and recombinant protein production.
