Product Overview
Antibiotic G418 is an aminoglycoside related to gentamycin and is toxic to bacteria, yeast, higher plants, mammalian cells, protozoans and helminths. Resistance is conferred by the bacterial gene for aminoglycoside-3-phosphotransferase that can be expressed in eukaryotic cells. This antibiotic is commonly used during the selection of transfected cell lines.
