Product Overview:
Poietics™Neural Progenitor Cells (NHNP) are cryopreserved neurospheres isolated fromhuman brain cortex. Neurospheres are clusters of cells typically referred to asneural stem cells and progenitors (NSPCs) or Human midbrain-derived neuralprogenitor cells (hmNPCs). These neurospheres can be maintainedundifferentiated in suspension as a 3D aggregate. To induce differentiation,the neurospheres can be transferred to laminin-coated vessels withbrain-derived neurotrophic (BDNF) which will induce differentiation intoneurons, astrocytes, and oligodendrocytes.

Cryopreserved Poietics™ Human Neural Progenitors (NHNP)are guaranteed to contain ≥1.2 million viable cells per ampoule and testpositive for Neuronal Class II Beta Tubulin and Glial FibrillaryAcid Protein (GFAP) following differentiation. All cells test negative formycoplasma, bacteria, yeast, and fungi. HIV-1, hepatitis B and hepatitis C arenot detected for all donors and/or cell lots. A Certificate of Analysis isprovided for each cell lot purchased.

Recommended Medium: NPMM™ Neural Progenitor Maintenance BulletKit™ Medium for recovery fromcryopreservation and maintenance as neurospheres; NPDM™ Neural Progenitor Differentiation BulletKit™ Medium + 25 ng/ml brain-derivedneurotrophic factor (BDNF) for non-directed differentiation ofneurospheres into neurons, astrocytes, and oligodendrocytes. Each bottleof the NPDM™ Neural Progenitor Differentiation BulletKit™ Medium containsenough differentiation medium to fully differentiate approximately 1.2 millionneural progenitor cells [approximately 20 wells of a 24-well plates] intomature, functionally active neurons, astrocytes, and oligodendrocytes.
