Product Overview

GE Healthcare HyClone HyQ Soy Hydrolysate Solution is a plant-derived protein hydrolysate used with animal protein-free cell culture medium. Living cells in vivo obtain the nutrients they require directly from the blood and biological tissues that surround them. Cell culture media are composed of inorganic salts, sugars (energy sources), vitamins, amino acids and other components which are intended to mimic these natural biological fluids. Regulatory pressures to remove any animal derived components from products intended for human therapeutic use may pose a challenge to some biopharmaceutical and biological manufacturers. Accordingly, many biopharmaceutical manufacturers are developing or purchasing serum-free and protein-free media formulations or supplements. We address this need both by researching and developing a high-performance line of serum-free media platforms and by assembling a portfolio of nutritional and growth supplements.
